1. How will my print be protected and packaged for shipping?

Your print will include a foamcore backer board for support and will be enclosed in either a clear protective sleeve-type bag or shrink-wrapping. We ship the prints in flat boxes with adequate padding and shipping insurance to help them arrive safely.

2. Do you offer framing?

We do not offer framing at this time. This cuts down on your shipping costs due to weight and glass. With so many variables and opinions as to what constitutes “a nice frame”, we believe it is best to leave framing choice up to you and your local frame shop. They can best help you choose framing that both enhances the art and takes into account where it will be displayed.

3. How are the prints produced?

Most of the prints we sell are produced with a modern process called giclee’ printing (pronounced GHEE-KLAY). “Giclees” as they are known, are reproductions produced with modern computer technology. The technology involves a high quality, large format ink jet printer that utilized archival inks to produce incredibly detailed, high-quality, long-lasting images. The method is typically carried out on both fine art papers and canvas. Each product in our inventory comes with a short description of how it is created.

4. How long will my print last?

To put it shortly, if your print is taken care of, it will last “a lifetime”. When framed with a UV-diminishing glass, and displayed away from prolonged direct sunlight, your limited edition print will last many decades. Printer and ink manufacturers such as Epson, HP, and others claim that their ink giclee prints, will last from 70 to over 100 years without visible fading or discoloration. They regularly have their technologies lightfast-tested and variations in their claims are dependent upon the combinations of inks and papers/canvases used.

5. What are the individual artists you feature doing to insure I get a quality print?

The artists we feature are all very conscientious about making sure their editions are well-made, archival, and authentic. Their professional reputations depend on creating quality reproductions. With each print we have asked the artist to supply a signed certificate of authenticity, which will be included with your art print.

6. What are my shipping costs?

Shipping costs will vary depending on the weight, size dimensions, and value of your order and where it is being shipped. Shipping costs are custom calculated when you place your order and are available for your review during the checkout process.

7. What shipping service does ArtCreel.com use?

We typically ship with UPS, our standard method being UPS Ground. However, expedited shipping may be available as well.

8. How long will it take to receive my order?

Your order will typically process and ship within 1-2 business days of our receiving it. Generally, please allow 5-9 business days after we ship for receipt of your merchandise (longer if we are shipping internationally). An item may be available for order but not currently in stock on hand; in this case it may take 4-6 weeks to receive your order.

9. Why would it take 4-6 weeks to receive an order?

We only keep a limited quantity of each item on hand and we may be waiting for one of our artists to send us more prints. Because the limited edition prints are hand signed and numbered by the artist (and therefore unique), the supply process can be delayed from time to time. We will notify you if this is the case.

10. I bought a print a while back and now I want to order another one of the same for a friend or family member, but I don’t see it available anymore. What happened?

When an edition has been completely sold out, it will no longer be available. We rely on our artists to tell us when this is the case or if they are no longer able to supply more of a certain edition (they may have committed part of the edition to sell with another vendor or gallery).

11. Is ordering online at ArtCreel.com safe? How is my credit card and personal information protected?

We have purchased what is called an SSL Certificate through RapidSSL to encrypt your information, keep it private, and safely transmit it when you go through our secured checkout process.

12. Why can’t I create an ArtCreel.com account and/or complete or submit an order?

Your browser must be set to accept “cookies” in order to place an order or set up an account on our site. These “cookies” allow us to recognize you when you place an order on our site. Cookies are unique, encrypted strings that contain no personal information, and keep other websites from reading your personal information. You can delete these cookies from your browser at any time. However, if you wish to place an order through our website you will need to receive a new cookie.

Additionally, SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 need to be check marked on (in) your browser. This is required so all of your submitted personal and credit card information can be encrypted. Our order process cannot be completed without SSL. This protects our customers by preventing hackers from accessing their private information.

We recommend that you use Firefox, Safari, Opera, Mozilla as your browser when shopping at ArtCreel.com. However, you may also use Internet Explorer as well, but it is best to use version 5.5 or higher. Netscape is not recommended but if you use version 7.0 or higher you should be fine.

13. What forms of payment does Artcreel.com accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

14. May I pay by check or money order?

Yes, although the process will take a bit more time than paying by credit card online. If you place an order by phone, you may mail a check or money order to us for payment. We will hold your order until your check or money order has been received, deposited, and cleared the bank. Once your check or money order clears, your order will be released and shipped to you. Note that checks or money orders returned unpaid by your financial institution are subject to a $25 service charge.

15. How can I confirm that ArtCreel.com has received my order?

After you complete your purchase, you will receive a page that confirms your order was accepted and will show your web order number. You will also receive an email from ArtCreel.com confirming your order. Please make sure the email address you provided us is accurate so that you receive the email confirmation.

16. Can I see when my order has shipped?

You can check the status of your order by logging into your account and selecting the “Review Previous Orders” button. Go through instructions here based on how our shopping cart software actually handles this.

17. Can I add to an order once it has been submitted?

Not usually. Once an order has been submitted online or by phone, it is processed. Once processed, you will need to submit another order for the additional items you would like. If you call us immediately after placing an order we may be able to edit the order.

18. Information for International Customers...

Artcreel.com does ship internationally, but not to all countries. To find out if we ship to your country, do the following (NOTE - these actions will not complete an order or commit you to an order):
a) add an item to the shopping cart.
b) click the checkout button in the window that pops up.
c) enter the country and postal code information in the "Estimate Shipping" section of that first checkout page.
d) choose the shipping method: "UPS Worldwide Expedited"
e) hit the "recalculate shipping" button.
IF shipping is available to your country, it will calculate the shipping cost. If it is not available to your country, a message will show up in grey above the "recalculate shipping" button, which will say:

"(Warning! Failure; The requested service is unavailable between the selected locations.)".

Please email us if you want to discuss shipping to your country where it is currently not available.

***Note - for countries where shipping IS available: if you think the shipping charges are calculating too high and would like us to discuss another shipping option that may be more affordable, please email us and in your email, make sure you specify which items you are wanting to purchase (SOME ITEMS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SHIP WITH CERTAIN CARRIERS) - and we will try to find a more affordable shipping solution for you.

19. Does ArtCreel.com charge Sales Tax?

No. We are located in the State of Montana and Montana does not have a Sales Tax. We are not required to collect Sales Tax on purchases from any state. This makes everything simpler for everyone involved. Buy in Montana!

20. Does ArtCreel.com offer gift cards?

At this time we do not offer gift cards. However, we may add this feature down the road.
